The cities with the lowest 150 food cost-of-living indexes with all cost-of-living indexes available were kept for this study.
Using this data, the percentage of the population ages 65 and over can be calculated.
The average single family home value was sourced from the Zillow Home Value Index for August 2024.
Using the average mortgage and average expenditure costs, the total cost of living can be calculated.
All data was collected on and is up to date as of Sept. 30, 2024.
